BACHELOR'S DEGREE PROGRAMMES
B.A. (Honours)
The B.A. Honours
Course carries 28 credits (each credits carrying the
equivalence of 100 marks). Apart from the structure
of the programme of study prescribed for the B.A.
(General) degree course, credit value of the
subjects/papers and hours of teaching allocated to
them, the honours course includes 4 papers of I
credit each of an advanced nature in one of the
elective subjects the student shall study in all the
three years of the degree course.
A student may offer
Honours in Second Year in any one of the elective
subjects, to be studied by him/her in all the three
years of the course.
Provided that
he/she has obtained at least 50% marks in the
subject of honours in the First Year of the B.A.
(General) Course.
For the B.A.
(Honours) Course the distribution of work will be as
under :
1st Year
:The same as in B.A. (General)
8 Credits
2nd Year
:The same as in 2nd year of B.A. (General).
In addition, there
shall be two advanced papers of one credit each in
the subject in which he seeks to get Honours degree.
(8+2 =10 credits)
3rd Year :The same
as in 3rdYear of B.A. (General).
In addition, there
shall be two advanced papers of one credit each in
the Honours subject. (8+2 =10 credits)
Total Credits : 28
Provision for
Honours exists in the following subjects in the
college :
English, Economics,
Political Science, Public Administration, Geography,
History, Hindi, Sociology and Psychology.
