SCHOLARSHIPS AND PRIZES

All types of State, Central Govt. scholarships are available in the college.

 

  1. The Govt. of India Scholarships under:-

 

(a) National Loan Scholarship Scheme

(b) National Talent Scholarships

(c) Sports Talent Scholarships

(d) Post matric scholarship for students belonging to scheduled castes.

(e) Grants-in-aid scheme of scholarships to students from Non-Hindi speaking states for Post Matric studies in Hindi 2004-05.

(f) National Merit Scholarship Scheme

 

2. U.T.Administration Scholarship for-SC/ST students only.

3. Sports Authority of India Scholarship for outstanding sportsmen.

4. Students Aid Fund Scholarship-from the UGC and partly from the college.

5. Donor Scholarships.

6. The college awards five special scholarships to deserving students of Sanskrit for the promotion of the language.

 

Half fee Concession in Tuition Fees 

This is open to all students. For availing this concession, the income of the parents of the student from all sources should be up to Rs. 100,000/-.This has been raised from the earlier Rs. 60,000/-. The student has to fill a separate form, available in the college office in case he/she wishes to avail of this concession.  
 

General Rules for Scholarships
 

  1. All cases for help are scrutinized by a committee consisting of Principal, Prof. lncharge of the Fund and representative of the students

  2. A lumpsum aid is granted to
     

a) Pay college dues

b) Meet hostel expenses

c) Purchase books and

d) Incur other expenditure considered

    necessary and useful for the student.

 

  1. Applications are considered as long as the funds last.

  2. Representatives of the students may bring needy cases to the notice of the Principal.

 

All students belonging to Scheduled Tribes/Scheduled Castes/Other backward classes will get application forms for Government of India/State Government scholarships from the college office and submit them duly completed within one week from the date of admission. There are two kinds of application forms for Scheduled Caste/Tribe students-one for the fresh candidates and the other for renewal of those who enjoyed scholarships in the previous year. The College will not be responsible if there is any delay in getting the scholarship.

 

Fee concessions, Stipends and scholarships of all categories are liable to be withdrawn if performance in studies falls or a student remains irregular in attendance or is found guilty of misbehaviour. Deserving students, who take part in Arya Samaj and Arya Yuvak Parishad Activities, attend prayer meetings and other lectures and functions regularly will be shown regard at the time of awarding concessions, stipends and allotment of seats in the Hostel. Students can apply afresh for concessions if they show creditable result in the House Examinations.

 

Prizes: Academic

 

On the Basis of University Examination

 

  1. Two prizes shall be awarded in each elective subject. If the total number of students in a subject is less than six, there will be only one prize.

 

The qualifying marks will be at least 60% for Science subject.

 

On the Basis of College Examination

 

  1. For the purpose of prizes, the result of all the college examinations will be considered.

  2.  First and second prizes for the highest marks in the aggregate in each class will be given provided the student secures at least 60% marks (if he has Science Subjects.)

 

Prizes: other than Academic

 

Prizes, Roll of Honours are also awarded for outstanding achievements in sports, community service and extra curricular activities.

Aid to Students (Donor Scholarships)

 

The college does its best to look after the needy and deserving students and arranges help for them in the form of books, grants, scholarships and lump sum grant from the Students Aid Fund. Various organizations and individuals have also instituted some scholarships. The meritorious students in academics as well as in sports get incentives. For all the scholarships, the students have to apply in writing to the Principal/Scholarships Committee.
