National Service
Scheme (NSS)
The college has been
allotted 250 seats under National Service
Scheme. Students from all classes can apply
for this. They are required to put in 120
hours of work per year including a ten day
camp. NSS volunteers who attend NSS camps
regularly get an advantage over others in
admission to postgraduate classes.
The NSS, Blood- Donors' Association and Youth
Service Club inculcate the spirit of social
service in young students.
National Cadet
Corps (NCC)
The college is known
for the emphasis it lays on NCC training.
All the three wings exist in the college.
Students can join one of these wings
depending on their aptitude and physical
fitness. They are also prepared for Regular
commission in the Army, Navy and Air Force.
As per NCC rules, a
cadet is required to attend the annual
training camp of the unit each year and
undergo service training for a period of 65
hours or 96 periods or 32 parades during the
academic session. In addition to this normal
training, he is required to undergo further
training for which he may volunteer and
which may from time to time be sanctioned by
the Ministry of Defence, Government of India
or by the State Government.

Sanskrit Parishad, Eng. Literary Society
hold debates and declamation contests and
arrange lectures and social functions.
Student Central
Association (SCA)
The
Students' Central Association coordinates
the cultural and social
activities in the College. It is
an asset to the
college in the maintenance of
decorum/discipline in the college;
arrangement of various college functions,
etc. The SCA is an
important link in the redressal of students'
grievances.
The Students' Central
Association guards the best interests of the
students. Our approach in this matter is
reflected right from the way we use the idea
of students' election. We work from the
belief that early exposure of the students
to electoral process is a good idea,
provided it is taken up in the right manner.
In our college we have reduced the
intervention of the political groupings to
the minimum level.
No doubt the student
groups have affiliation with the student
bodies of political parties. The difference
we make is that we involve all students in
the matters of their immediate interest thus
leaving them no space to peddle the bad
practices of the professional politicians.
These have no impact on our students as they
are made to strictly adhere to necessary
election codes. Our students contest the
most peaceful election without taking
recourse to the mean methods of influencing
the voters.
Once the elected body
is put in place, all types of election fever
and rivalries are forgotten once and for all
and even those students who have lost in the
contest continue to get full attention if
they bring up the genuine problems
concerning the students.
